K-State in the Super Bowl
Wildcat Greats in Football's Greatest Game
With the number of K-Staters that have played in the NFL all time, it is no wonder that so many of them have played in the biggest game in football — the Super Bowl. Former Wildcats have come up big on the game's largest stage, including record setting feats and clutch performances.
Andre Coleman, former K-State wide receiver and kick returner, still holds the record for the most kick return yards ever in a Super Bowl with 244, set in Super Bowl XXIX. He also currently shares the record for the 2nd longest kick return in a Super Bowl with his 98-yard touchdown return against the 49ers.
Ryan Lilja, former K-State offensive lineman, started in Super Bowl XLI, protecting Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning. The Colts offensive line paved the way for over 400 yards of offense, and gave up only one sack to the tough Chicago Bears defense.
Larry Brown, former K-State running back, played in one of the earliest Super Bowls, starting at running back for the Redskins in Super Bowl VII. Brown rushed for nearly a hundred yards, but the Redskins came up short against the undefeated Miami Dolphins.
